The Orsay Museum displays the whole range of fine arts for the period 1848-1914:
The museum is most appreciated in particular for its impressionist collection
(Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Renoir…) but also for the very wide range of
artistic themes covering that period: Academicism, Naturalism,
Symbolism, Art nouveau…
We
will then take you just round the corner from the Museum to the “Maison
des Polytechniciens”, a magnificent 18th century mansion - former hotel
Poulpry.
There you will enjoy
a gourmet dinner (drinks included): the most beautiful and tasteful
dishes to prove that cooking is an art in which the French are
excellent! paintings, pastels, sculptures and decorative arts are on show permanently.
Our hostess will take you to the galleries without you
having to line up; she will give you your audio guide (available in
French, English, Spanish, German, Italian or Japanese) for the
permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions.
